The Salthill Hotel in Galway seeks a friendly Hotel Porter to join our team. You will greet guests, assist with luggage, escort guests to rooms, and share local knowledge of Galway.

You will support event spaces, help set up weddings and conferences, and maintain lobby presentation. A positive, professional manner and flexibility for evenings and weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
• Positive, professional and approachable manner.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks (lifting, moving furniture, handling luggage).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly on arrival and assist with luggage.
• Escort guests to rooms and provide information on hotel facilities.
• Deliver excellent customer service and respond to guest requests promptly.
• Provide local knowledge on Galway attractions, transport, and amenities.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of lobby, entrance, and public areas.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces (weddings, conferences, functions).
• Arrange furniture, staging, and equipment according to event plans.
• Ensure event rooms are clean, organised, and ready on time.
• Support the events team during functions to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor and maintain presentation standards throughout events.
