Job summary

Salthill Hotel in Galway is seeking a Kitchen Porter to maintain daily cleanliness of the kitchen and related areas, ensuring equipment is clean and ready for use.

You will join a busy hotel team, with responsibilities including stock of cleaning chemicals, working under the Head Chef and Hotel Manager, and occasional heavy lifting.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering a dynamic, friendly workplace at the Salthill Promenade.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Everyday cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Equipment must be clean and ready for next use.
• Manage stock of cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Work as part of the hotel team.

Job description

The Kitchen Porter is responsible for the day to day cleaning and overall cleanliness of the kitchen and kitchen areas, they will work closely with the kitchen & hotel team in making sure that the kitchen areas and equipment is kept to a high standard and to make sure that all cleaning procedures are adhered to.

You will have a strong understanding of workplace hygiene and organization as well as be flexible to the changing needs of a business. This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced Kitchen porter to join the fun, energetic and vibrant Salthill Hotel in Salthill.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the everyday cleanliness of the kitchen
• Ensuring that equipment is clean and ready for next use.
• Manage stock of cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Work as part of the hotel team.
• This is a hands‑on role which will require the occasional heavy lifting.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Chef and Hotel Manager

Experience And Skills
