Job summary

The Ardilaun Hotel **** in Galway is seeking a friendly Front of House Porter to ensure smooth operations of the front of house areas and to deliver outstanding guest service.

You will support events, assist guests, and maintain a clean lobby and dining spaces while following safety procedures. The role calls for a flexible schedule including weekends and nights, and the successful candidate will join a welcoming team in a 4-star hotel near Galway Bay.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Excellent customer service and guest relations skills.
• Experience in the hotel industry in guest relations/guest services.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Willingness to work weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up for events such as banquets, conferences, and weddings.
• Greet and assist guests in a friendly manner.
• Carry out health and safety checks and security duties.
• Provide room and lobby service as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized front of house area.
• Assist management with other duties as required.

Formerly a country mansion, the 4* Ardilaun Hotel boasts 123 luxury bedrooms with a superb conference center, wedding venue and leisure club facilities. It is independently owned and operated by the Ryan family, having celebrated 64 years in business recently. Nestled in Galway's suburbs, in a secluded setting in leafy Taylor's Hill just 1km from Galway City, Galway Bay, and Salthill, our hotel provides a serene and secluded setting. The facilities include the family friendly Camilaun Restaurant, Garden Terrace with canopy for outdoor dining, Blazers Bar and The Ardilaun Bistro. Responsibilities

• Responsible for setting up for events such as banquets, conferences, and weddings.
• Greet and assist guests as needed
• Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures and carry out fire and security checks
• Provide room and lobby service as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized front of house area, including the lobby, and dining areas
• Perform other duties as assigned by the management

Requirements

• Experience in the hotel industry in a guest relations/ guest services role
