MPG Recruitment Limited is partnering with a Kilkenny MSP to hire a Helpdesk Analyst / L1 Engineer for their Service Desk. The role is onsite in Kilkenny, offering exposure to a variety of client environments and technologies, with the chance to develop under senior engineers.

You will provide remote and phone support, troubleshoot client systems, and contribute to uptime, security and project installs. A relevant IT qualification is advantageous, but hands-on experience and attitude matter most.

Qualifications

• Experience in helpdesk or IT support, preferably in an MSP.
• Strong troubleshooting across Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware and basic networking.
• Excellent communication and customer-service attitude.
• Organised with attention to documenting work.
• Team player who is eager to learn; hands-on experience matters.

MPG Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) in Kilkenny. They’s looking for a Helpdesk Analyst / L1 Engineer to join their Service Desk team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and solving problems, and who wants to build their career in a supportive, client-focused MSP environment. You’ll work alongside senior engineers and get exposure to a wide range of client environments, technologies and projects.

The Role

• Provide professional, friendly remote and telephone support to a varied client base
• Troubleshoot and monitor client server and network environments
• Manage remote systems and carry out daily security and backup checks, raising and escalating tickets as needed
• Carry out general IT administration
• Install, configure and troubleshoot IT hardware and software
• Support senior engineers on project installs
• Spot opportunities to improve clients’ IT systems and operations
• Build strong client relationships and deliver excellent customer service
• Keep clients and internal teams updated on progress and issues
• Record all work clearly in the ticketing and documentation systems
• Make sure SLA targets are met

About You

• Previous helpdesk or IT support experience, ideally within an MSP
• Good troubleshooting skills across Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware and basic networking
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine customer-service attitude
• Organised, with strong attention to detail in documenting your work
• A team player who’s eager to learn and develop
• An IT qualification or degree is an advantage but not essential – hands‑on experience and the right attitude matter most
