Job summary

The Recruitment Company in Ireland is seeking a Head of IT for a medium-sized, fast-paced business in South Dublin. You will own an end-to-end technology function, lead data, automation, AI initiatives and align IT with commercial goals.

You’ll manage an experienced IT team, drive infrastructure, cyber, resilience, and budget, and guide due diligence for future acquisitions, including technology integration across the group.

Medium Sized Fast Paced Business

We are exclusively partnering with an established, successful Irish business to appoint a new Head of IT.

This is an opportunity for a technology leader who wants genuine ownership. You’ll lead an experienced IT team, take responsibility for a broad technology environment and help move IT from a predominantly reactive function towards a more proactive, commercially focused business partner.

The fundamentals matter – infrastructure, cyber, resilience, suppliers, contracts and budget – but the bigger opportunity is around data, automation, AI and getting greater value from the Microsoft technology stack, including Azure and Power Platform. The role will also support future acquisitions from due diligence through to technology integration.

What we’re looking for

We’re deliberately open-minded on background. You may already be a Head of IT, or you could be a strong number two ready to take ownership of an entire IT function for the first time.

You’ll bring:

• Broad technical credibility, with depth in areas such as applications, data, cloud or infrastructure
• Strong Microsoft technology exposure, ideally Azure and/or Power Platform
• The ability to lead, develop and energise an IT team
• Commercial curiosity around technology spend, suppliers and contracts
• The credibility to engage and challenge senior business stakeholders
• A practical, hands‑on approach and genuine ownership mentality
• Experience using technology to improve processes, automate activity or create business value
• ERP experience is important, but SAP specifically is not essential. Experience of M&A/integration, AI, data or a private equity‑backed environment would be advantageous.
