Qualifications

Group Financial Controller

An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take a key leadership role within its finance function.

This is a broad Group-level position with responsibility for financial reporting, controls, compliance and finance operations across a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environment. The successful candidate will lead and develop the finance team while driving greater consistency, efficiency and control across Group finance processes.

The role would suit a qualified accountant who combines strong technical accounting and financial control experience with a practical, hands-on approach to people leadership, systems and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Group financial reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Oversee consolidated management and statutory reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring appropriate controls, policies and procedures are consistently applied across the Group.
• Lead balance sheet management, reconciliations and the integrity of financial information across all entities.
• Manage and develop the finance team, providing clear direction, coaching and support while driving accountability and high performance.
• Coordinate the annual statutory audit process and manage relationships with external auditors and other professional advisers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax requirements, statutory obligations and Group policies across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee key areas of finance operations and ensure appropriate governance and controls are maintained.
• Identify opportunities to improve and standardise finance processes across the Group, reducing manual activity and improving the quality and timeliness of financial information.
• Play a key role in ERP and finance systems development, including system optimisation, implementation and integration projects.
• Develop reporting, controls and processes that can support the continued growth and increasing complexity of the organisation.
• Partner with senior finance and operational stakeholders across the business, providing clear financial information and resolving accounting and control issues.
• Support wider finance transformation and strategic projects as required.

The Person

• Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong post-qualified experience within a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or similar role.
• Demonstrable experience operating within a multi-entity and ideally multi-jurisdictional environment.
• Strong financial reporting, consolidation and technical accounting experience.
• Excellent understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance.
• Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Strong track record of improving and standardising finance processes.
• Experience working with ERP systems, ideally including implementation, migration, integration or optimisation projects.
• Comfortable operating in a growing or changing environment where processes and systems continue to evolve.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across finance, operations and senior leadership.
• Commercially aware, highly organised and capable of combining strategic oversight with a hands-on approach when required.
