Job summary

Wallace Myers International assists a well-established national not-for-profit organisation in recruiting an experienced Financial Controller in Dublin. You will report to the Head of Finance and lead the finance function, overseeing reporting, controls and governance to support strategic growth.

You will manage a finance team, oversee budgeting, cashflow, audits, and statutory reporting while driving continuous improvement and operating with strong financial discipline.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
  • Experience managing audits, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge.
  • Ability to work strategically and operationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day financial operations and oversee the finance team.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cashflow planning, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee multiple funding streams, grants, and stakeholder reporting obligations.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Support senior management with financial insights and strategic decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement, process enhancements, and finance transformation projects.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and governance committees.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established national not-for-profit organisation. Key Responsibilities

About You
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior finance leadership role.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
  • Experience managing audits, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge.
  • Ability to work both strategically and operationally.
  • Experience within the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
