Job summary

DSV Ireland is hiring a Freight Forwarder – Ocean in Cork to manage sea freight shipments from order creation through delivery. You will deliver excellent customer service and provide end-to-end visibility of shipments while coordinating with shipping lines, overseas offices, and customs teams.

You will keep system data accurate, support invoicing and cost control, and help drive continuous improvement within the team in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service, administration, or logistics environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Managing sea freight shipments from order creation through to final delivery.
• Providing customers with proactive updates and full visibility of their shipments.
• Responding to customer enquiries promptly and professionally through verbal and written communication.
• Monitoring shipment progress and identifying potential disruptions before they impact customers.
• Coordinating with shipping lines, overseas offices, customs authorities, and transportation providers to ensure smooth cargo movement.
• Managing exceptions and resolving operational issues in a timely and customer-focused manner.
• Ensuring accurate system data entry and maintenance of shipment records.
• Opening and maintaining shipment files in accordance with company procedures and service standards.
• Coordinating customs brokerage requirements and ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Managing and maintaining In-Transit Reports and shipment tracking information.
• Supporting accurate and timely invoicing and cost control processes.
• Working to established service levels, KPIs, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborating with internal departments to deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence within the team.

Freight Forwarder -Ocean Cork Mon-Fri, 09.00-17.30, 37.5 hours

You will work closely with customers, overseas offices, shipping lines, transport providers, customs teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless and high-quality customer experience.
