  • Experience within the investment management / investment funds industry.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Irish/UK GAAP.
  • Understanding of the Irish regulatory environment relating to Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting.
  • Experience reviewing investment fund financial statements.
  • Experience dealing with external auditors and technical accounting matters.
  • Knowledge of leading Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting systems.
  • Understanding of interfaces between Fund Accounting and other systems.
  • Strong stakeholder and client-management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Leadership, coaching, mentoring or people-development experience.
  • Relevant professional qualification.
  • Ability to investigate complex issues and develop practical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing financial statements and ensuring compliance with IFRS, Irish GAAP and UK GAAP requirements.
  • Interpreting changes to accounting standards and regulations and assessing their impact on investment funds and clients.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for external audit firms on technical financial reporting matters.
  • Providing guidance on complex and non-routine financial reporting issues.
  • Keeping teams informed of relevant industry, accounting and regulatory developments.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and establish best practice.
  • Working with training teams to identify development needs and implement training and best-practice solutions.
  • Liaising with Compliance and other internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting senior management with client servicing, due diligence and new-business opportunities.
  • Contributing to client presentations, RFP responses and prospective-client activity.
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues and helping develop a strong client-service culture.

Senior Financial Reporting Consultant - Novemeber Start

Location: Limerick, Ireland – Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite

Contract: 6+ months, starting in November

Rate: Up to €50 per hour

An excellent contract opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Consultant to join a leading global financial services organisation within its Investment Funds / Asset Servicing operation in Limerick.

This is a senior-level position focused on financial statement review, technical accounting, regulatory change and best practice across fund financial reporting. You’ll act as a key technical contact for audit firms and internal stakeholders while helping teams navigate complex and non-routine reporting matters.

The Role

You will be responsible for reviewing and supporting the delivery of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Working across Financial Reporting, Fund Accounting, Compliance, external auditors and senior management, you will help establish best practice and improve the quality and consistency of financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

What We’re Looking For

You should have strong experience within the investment management / investment funds industry, gained within areas such as:

  • Fund administration
  • Asset management
  • Securities operations
  • Audit / professional services covering investment funds

Previous financial reporting experience is strongly preferred, alongside detailed knowledge of onshore and offshore funds.

You should also bring:
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Irish/UK GAAP.
  • Understanding of the Irish regulatory environment relating to Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting.
  • Experience reviewing investment fund financial statements.
  • Experience dealing with external auditors and technical accounting matters.
  • Knowledge of leading Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting systems.
  • Understanding of interfaces between Fund Accounting and other systems.
  • Strong stakeholder and client-management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Leadership, coaching, mentoring or people-development experience.

Experience with market-data vendors such as Bloomberg or Reuters/LSEG would also be beneficial.
