A leading global financial services organisation is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant – Investments to join its Finance team in Dublin 2.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a sophisticated international financial services environment, with strong exposure to investment accounting, financial reporting, US GAAP, valuations and internal controls.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior Finance stakeholders and have the opportunity to take ownership of key areas while contributing to wider Finance projects and initiatives.
The Role:
Reporting into the investment accounting function, you will play an important role in the monthly and quarterly reporting of the Company's investment portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting monthly and quarterly investment portfolio reporting, including management, Board, external and statutory reporting.
- Reviewing monthly investment reporting packages and preparing and posting journal entries.
- Completing reconciliations between underlying investment data and the general ledger.
- Performing analysis supporting the valuation of the investment portfolio.
- Preparing accounting entries relating to the valuation and transactions of Private Credit and Private Equity funds.
- Supporting the ongoing operation and enhancement of the SOX 404 internal control environment.
- Preparing investment analysis for senior management.
- Working closely with internal and external auditors throughout the audit process.
- Liaising with external investment accounting service providers to support an efficient monthly close.
- Researching complex investment and derivative transactions and assisting with the preparation of technical accounting memoranda under US GAAP.
- Supporting the wider Finance team with quarterly close, financial reporting and strategic projects.
- Taking ownership of smaller projects and specific workstreams within larger Finance initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
- 1-2+ years' Big Four audit experience, ideally with exposure to investments, financial services or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Practical experience with ASC 320, ASC 815, ASC 820 and ASC 825 would be highly advantageous.
- Experience with SOX 404 and/or public company reporting is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive, organised and methodical approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
- Experience with general ledger and accounting systems, along with strong Microsoft Office skills.
