Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience in senior finance roles (Financial Controller/Finance Manager).

• Commercial mindset with ability to influence decisions.

Responsibilities

Financial Controller / Company Accountant

Location: North Wicklow, easily commutable from Bray, Greystones, Wicklow Town, South Dublin, Dún Laoghaire and surrounding areas

The Company

A growing Irish FMCG/manufacturing business is seeking a commercially focused Financial Controller to lead the finance function and support the next phase of growth. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, this role offers broad exposure across finance, operations and commercial decision-making.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for the full finance function while acting as a key business partner to senior management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ownership of day-to-day finance operations and financial controls.
• Preparation of management accounts, budgets, forecasts and KPI reporting.
• Business partnering with senior leadership on profitability, pricing, investment and growth initiatives.
• Cashflow forecasting, working capital management and banking relationships.
• Oversight of month-end close, AP, AR, payroll and credit control.
• Stock accounting, inventory controls and reconciliations.
• Management of VAT, payroll, excise and statutory compliance.
• Leading the annual audit and liaising with external advisors and stakeholders.
• Driving process improvements across finance systems and reporting.
• Preparation of board-level financial reporting and analysis.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Finance professional.
• Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or another stock-based environment is highly desirable.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Experience managing cashflow, inventory and financial controls.
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence decision-making.
• Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
• ERP system experience required; SAP Business One experience advantageous.
