HireForce is partnering with a successful Irish SME in the construction sector to recruit a Financial Controller. This hands-on role gives you ownership of the finance function and close collaboration with the senior leadership team.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Financial Controller or Finance Manager with proven management accounting and financial-control expertise, comfortable in a fast-growing SME environment and capable of delivering robust reporting and insights to drive business

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA credentials.
• Strong management accounting and financial-control experience.
• Hands-on SME environment experience is ideal.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and payroll.
• Manage VAT and statutory returns.
• Monitor project costs, margins and performance.
• Develop financial controls, systems and reporting.
• Liaise with auditors, banks and external advisers.
• Provide financial insight to support business decisions.

HireForce is working with a successful Irish SME operating within the construction sector to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a hands-on position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the company’s finance function and work closely with the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving reporting and supporting the continued growth of the business.

This role would suit an experienced Financial Controller or Finance Manager looking to take full ownership of the finance function within a growing Irish business.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
• Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
• Management of VAT and other statutory returns
• Monitoring project costs, margins and commercial performance
• Developing financial controls, systems and reporting processes
• Liaising with auditors, banks and external advisers
• Providing financial insight to support business decisions

About you:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA)
• Strong management accounting and financial-control experience
• Comfortable working in a hands-on SME environment
• Commercially minded with strong analytical skills
• Construction or project-based industry experience would be advantageous
• Confident working closely with senior management and operational teams
