Job summary

Wallace Myers International is recruiting an experienced Accountant for a mid-west region, office-based role. The successful candidate will own key accounting activities, including monthly management accounts, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting, and will liaise with operations to support decision-making.

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA, or qualified by experience.
• Experience in Accountant/Financial Accountant or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Understanding of Irish VAT, PAYE and taxation requirements.
• Payroll experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations
• Balance sheet, bank, supplier and debtor reconciliations
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting
• Management of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Revenue compliance including VAT, PAYE and relevant tax obligations
• Payroll support and oversight
• Preparation of year-end audit files and liaison with external auditors
• Support statutory reporting requirements and financial statement preparation
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to management
• Maintain and improve financial controls, procedures and reporting processes
• Work closely with operational and commercial teams to support decision-making

Our client, a well-established and growing organisation within the construction and project delivery sector, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional to take ownership of key accounting activities and play a central role in supporting business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations
