Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is supporting a well-established FMCG business in Dublin 12 with a Financial Accountant role. Hybrid working arrangement includes two days from home per week, in a fast-paced commercial environment.

The role offers exposure to management accounts, financial reporting, month-end close, statutory accounts, budgeting, forecasting and Revenue compliance, with opportunities for business partnering and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• At least two years’ post-qualification experience in FMCG, manufacturing, retail or another fast-paced commercial environment.
• Experience preparing management accounts, financial reports and month-end close activities.
• Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and financial controls.
• Experience supporting statutory accounts preparation and external audits.
• Previous experience with Revenue compliance, VAT returns and intercompany reconciliations.
• Experience using an integrated ERP system. IFS experience is advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Payroll experience is beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support monthly management accounts, including journal postings and month-end financial reporting.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare and reconcile intercompany accounts.
• Support capital expenditure monitoring, proposal evaluation and spend control.
• Assist with statutory financial statements and the external audit process.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure Revenue compliance, including the preparation of monthly and bi-monthly statutory returns.
• Provide support across the finance team, including payroll activities where required.
• Improve financial processes, internal controls and reporting efficiency.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and business improvement projects.
