Job summary

Executive Edge Recruitment is working with a multinational firm in Dublin 24 seeking a recently qualified Financial Accountant to join the finance team.

The role covers monthly management accounts, P&L analysis, group reporting, budgets and forecasts, and interaction with auditors. The ideal candidate has ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, practice or industry background, and strong Excel skills.

This is a broad commercial finance role with opportunities to develop and work cross-functionally.

Qualifications

• Recently qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in P&L, management accounts and financial reporting.
• Experience from practice or industry considered.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• ERP experience (SAP or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts includingP&L, profit margin and variance analysis.
• Manage month-end reporting process.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting.
• Assist with annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business performance.
• Monitor overheads and unit performance.
• Liaise with external auditors and respond to queries.
• Provide cover and support to the Financial Controller as required.
• Authorise invoices, payments and other financial submissions in line with procedures.

Our client, a Multi-national firm based in Dublin 24, is seeking a recently qualified Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant coming from either practice or industry who has strong experience across P&L, management accounts and financial reporting and is now looking to develop their career in a broad commercial finance role.

The Role:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, profit margin and variance analysis


• Manage and monitor the month-end reporting process


• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting


• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts


• Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business performance


• Monitor and analyse overheads and business unit performance


• Prepare information for monthly and annual financial accounts


• Assist with statutory accounts and tax returns


• Monitor impairment risks and assist with relevant accounting requirements


• Prepare lease rate calculations and asset sale evaluations


• Maintain the fixed asset database


• Liaise with external auditors and respond to queries


• Supervise and support an Assistant Accountant


• Provide cover and support to the Financial Controller as required


• Authorise invoices, payments and other financial submissions in line with procedures


• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis

The Person:

• Recently qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent


• Candidates coming from practice or industry will be considered


• Strong experience preparing and analysing P&L and management accounts


• Good understanding of month-end reporting and financial controls


• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills


• SAP or other ERP experience would be an advantage


• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently while also supporting and developing more junior members of the team


• Commercially minded with the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business
