Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is seeking a Financial Accountant to join a well-established organisation in the Education sector in Ireland. The role is an immediate start on a temporary basis with a view to extension, offering exposure to tax, treasury and financial controls.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years' relevant experience in accounting, finance or a structured professional environment.
• Experience with reconciliations, financial schedules and/or compliance processes.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review bank, control account and treasury reconciliations, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies.
• Support VAT, RCT and PSWT compliance, ensuring accurate and audit-ready documentation.
• Maintain cashflow, banking, tax and financial control records in line with established procedures.
• Support governance, risk and audit activities, including preparation of documentation and maintenance of key registers.
• Contribute to process improvements, procedures and finance systems.

• Prepare and review bank, control account and treasury reconciliations, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies.
• Support VAT, RCT and PSWT compliance, ensuring accurate and audit-ready documentation.
• Maintain cashflow, banking, tax and financial control records in line with established procedures.
• Support governance, risk and audit activities, including preparation of documentation and maintenance of key registers.
• Contribute to process improvements, procedures and finance systems.

The Ideal Candidate:
