Job summary

Purcell O’Leary Recruitment is seeking an experienced accountant to join their finance team on a part-time basis, three days per week. The role supports month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, statutory compliance, audit processes and financial analysis in a flexible environment.

You will prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, assist with audits, payroll processing, and provide analysis to operational managers.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Preparation and review of management accounts.

• Financial analysis and reporting.
• Month-end and year-end close processes.
• Liaising with external auditors.
• Experience using AI tools to support analysis and reporting.

Purcell O’Leary Recruitment closely with the Head of Finance to recruit for a candidate to join their finance team.

This is a part time role to assist with month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, statutory compliance, audit processes and financial analysis.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant seeking a flexible working arrangement while remaining involved in a varied and professional finance environment. 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities for the Accountant ( part time )

Financial ReportingAssist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

• Responsible for reviewing, reconciling and reporting subscription revenue and deferred revenue, ensuring revenue is recognized accurately and in line with accounting requirements.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Support the preparation of reports for senior management, Board and Audit & Risk Committee meetings. Budgeting and Forecasting
• Assist with the annual budgeting process.
• Support forecast updates throughout the year.
• Analyses variances and identify key financial trends.

Audit and Compliance

• Prepare audit files and supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Support the maintenance and improvement of financial controls and governance processes. Financial Control
• Prepare and review key balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with cashflow forecasting and monitoring.
• Responsible for processing monthly outsourced payroll, including review of payroll inputs, coordination with the payroll provider, reconciliation of payroll reports and ensuring payroll is completed accurately and on time.
• Responsible for ensuring supplier payments are processed each month in line with approved payment controls, supplier verification procedures and delegated authority limits.
• Support implementation of process improvements within the finance function.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies.
• Provide financial analysis and support to operational managers.
• Assist with financial evaluation of projects and initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial reporting and KPI monitoring.
• Support ad hoc projects as required by the Head of Finance.
