Job summary

SureSkills is a global edtech services company seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Ireland. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, execute month-end close, and prepare comprehensive reports.

Tthe ideal candidate holds a recognized accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) and has 2+ years PQE, with strong Excel skills and ERP experience to support corporate decision-making and compliance.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2+ years PQE in corporate finance or from a Top 10 firm.
• Strong Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced formulas) and ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to strict deadlines.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and payroll adjustments.
• Perform variance analysis of actuals vs budgets/forecasts and explain drivers.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and capex tracking.
• Handle intercompany accounting, monthly reconciliations and cross-charge allocations.
• Monitor cash positions and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts.
• Assist with corporate banking operations and FX exposure tracking.
• Oversee T&E policy and system management.
• Prepare statutory returns including VAT, corporate tax, and payroll tax submissions.
• Provide training and guidance to accounting staff.

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Financial Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, executing month-end closing processes, and preparing comprehensive financial reports. You will play a vital role in maintaining strict compliance with accounting standards while providing key insights that support strategic corporate decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to strict deadlines.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and payroll adjustments.
• Perform detailed variance analysis of actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, explaining key operational drivers.
• Take full ownership of key balance sheet account reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain the corporate fixed asset register, overseeing depreciation schedules and capital expenditure tracking.
• Perform intercompany accounting, including monthly reconciliations and cross-charge allocations.
• Monitor daily corporate cash positions and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts.
• Assist in the administration of corporate banking platforms, payment approvals, and foreign exchange exposure tracking.
• Mange and co-ordinate the companies T&E policy and system
• Preparation and filing of statutory returns, including VAT, corporate tax, and payroll tax submissions.
• Provide training, direction and support to accounting staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• Professional Certification: Fully qualified accountant holding a recognized credential, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA.
• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years PQE ideally gained within a corporate finance department or via a transition from a Top 10 public accounting firm.
• Systems: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas). Hands-on experience with corporate ERP software systems is highly desirable.
