Job summary

GURRANABRAHER CREDIT UNION LTD is seeking an experienced Member Services Officer to join our team in Cork. You will assist members with day-to-day transactions, handle cash, and support front- and back-office operations while guiding loan applications and queries.

The ideal candidate will have a Leaving Certificate with APA (Loans) and strong numeracy, IT and communication skills, and a commitment to excellent member service within a friendly, team-based environment.

GURRANABRAHER CREDIT UNION LTD is an established community based Credit Union based in the North side of Cork city , with €106 million in assets, serving our 15,000 members.

With offices at Bakers Road and Harbourview Road in Cork City, we are looking for a qualified professional who will deliver an excellent service to our members.

About the Role

Gurranabraher Credit Union is seeking an experienced Member Services Officer to join our team. You will assist members with their day-to-day transactions, loan applications and queries, while supporting our front- and back-office operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, helpful and efficient service to members at the front counter and in the member service hub.
• Process transactions on the Credit Union system, handle cash and accurately balance your cash position.
• Deal with loan applications and drawdowns.
• Respond to member queries and carry out other front- and back-office tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: Leaving Certificate, APA (Loans). QFA preferred. Applicants must already hold the required minimum qualification.

Required Skills

• Previous significant experience in a member services or counter services role within a credit union, bank or similar financial services environment.
• Experience in processing transactions, handling cash and balancing cash accurately.
• Strong numeracy and IT skills, together with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to excellent member service and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Pay range and compensation package

• Contract: Permanent, subject to a probation period.
• Salary: Competitive Salary based on experience and qualifications.
• Reporting to: The Credit Union Operations Manager.
