Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Simulation and Modeling Engineer in Dublin, Ireland to support European air-cooled chiller engineering. You will run rating programs, analyze performance data per EN 14511 and EN 14825, and develop tools to aid engineering decisions.

This role focuses on practical engineering, not software development, and involves collaboration with global teams. You will validate models against lab data, extend analysis with new methods, and contribute to the European rating

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
Minimum 2 years of work experience in a related field.
Solid understanding of fluid and thermal principles, including vapor compression cycles.
Strong spreadsheet skills and ability to build custom analysis tools.

Responsibilities

Develops and applies understanding of fluid, thermal, refrigeration principles to determine rated performance.
Runs and interprets chiller rating programs for European products and checks outputs for consistency.
Builds and maintains analysis and rating tools, primarily spreadsheet-based.
Performs thermal analysis including heat exchanger sizing and pressure drop trade-offs.
Supports studies of control strategies and refrigerant transitions within Europe.
