Job summary

Johnson Controls in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a Simulation and Modeling Engineer to support our European air-cooled chiller engineering team. This role focuses on thermal analysis, performance rating, and data-driven decision support using laboratory test data and in-house tools.

You will develop rating cases in line with EN 14511 and EN 14825, assess ECODESIGN/ErP compliance, and extend analysis tools to cover European product requirements while collaborating with global Modeling & Simulation

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
Strong knowledge of fluid and thermal principles, incl. vapor-compression cycle.
Proficient with spreadsheet-based data analysis and data reduction.
Familiarity with EN 14511, EN 14825, Ecodesign / ErP; CE marking awareness.

Responsibilities

Develops and applies theories and processes related to thermal and mechanical aspects of air-cooled chillers to determine rated performance.
Produces, checks, and documents chiller performance ratings under supervision.
Runs rating programs for European products and investigates anomalies with experienced engineers.
Prepares performance data for full and part-load conditions per EN 14511 and EN 14825 and supports ECODESIGN/ErP data packages.
Builds and maintains spreadsheet-based analysis tools for parametric studies and data processing.
