Job summary

Johnson Controls in Dublin, Ireland is seeking a Product Engineer II to support European air‑cooled chiller engineering. You will contribute to mechanical design, testing, and data analysis across European markets.

You will collaborate with production, labs, service, and marketing teams, apply EU mechanical and safety standards, and help drive product development while mentoring newer engineers.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a related field.
• Proficient in mechanical design and creating production drawings to ISO/EN drafting conventions.
• Familiarity with European mechanical and refrigeration codes and standards (CE marking, PED, Machinery Directive, EN 378).
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply understanding of fluid, thermal, refrigeration, and mechanical concepts in air‑cooled chillers.
• Conceptualize and implement design ideas under supervision.
• Define project activities and complete detailed mechanical designwork for components/features.
• Apply EN 378, EN 14511, and EU directives in design and documentation.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to optimize layout for cost, performance, and reliability.
• Support testing programs, analyze data, and troubleshoot components.
