Job summary

Johnson Controls in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking an entry-level Product Engineer I to support the mechanical design and performance of air-cooled chiller components for the European market. You will work under supervision, build product knowledge, support lab testing and factory activity, and contribute to new product development while honing your technical expertise.

You will learn European codes (CE marking, PED, Machinery Directive) and standards (EN 378, EN 14511) and help deliver engineering

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Internship, co-op, or work experience in related field preferred.
• Understanding of fundamental fluid and thermal principles.
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD and engineering drawing practice.
• Willingness to learn European mechanical and refrigeration codes and standards (CE marking, PED, Machinery Directive, EN 378).
• Able to organize and process large amounts of data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, primarily within Europe.

Responsibilities

• Support the mechanical design and performance of air-cooled chiller components for the European market.
• Work under close supervision and follow defined processes.
• Contribute to design activities with the project team.
• Support delivery of engineering deliverables (design specs, reviews, data analysis).
• L earn and apply European mechanical and safety codes and harmonized standards.
• Assist with laboratory test programs and data collection and presentation.
• Assist with selection of mechanical components considering cost and performance.
• Provide day-to-day support to factory operations, lab, and product service.
