Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Dublin, Ireland, to lead electrical design for European air-cooled chiller programs.

You will own electrical performance, define specs, and guide cross-functional teams across Europe, mentoring less-experienced engineers and driving new product development. The role requires strong design and communication skills, deep knowledge of European directives, and ability to coordinate tests and documentation for timely releases.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of electrical design and project experience.
• Working knowledge of European electrical directives and standards (CE marking, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, Machinery Directive) and harmonized IEC/EN standards.
• Proficient in electrical design, able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.
• Proficient at organizing and processing large amounts of data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the team technically.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, primarily within Europe.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical performance of air-cooled chiller components and systems for the European market.
• Design electrical power panels, control panels, variable speed drives, and wire harnesses per CE directives and standards.
• Define electrical specifications and coordinate release of documentation.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate and execute test programs to validate electrical performance and reliability.
• Ensure on-time completion of projects and regular status reporting.
• Select appropriate electrical components balancing cost, performance and reliability.
