Job summary

Praxis Care is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for Argina House in Leitrim to help individuals achieve independent living goals and maintain dignity. The role involves working in a caring, person-centered team with various pattern options, including full-time, part-time, and relief shifts.

All salaries are based on 39 hours (FTE) and pro rata to contracted hours. Sleep-ins may require additional payments. A values-driven approach and compliance with policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and literacy skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Experience working within the health and social care field.

Responsibilities

• Support and empower individuals to develop or improve independent living skills as identified in person-centred plans.
• Prepare and implement individual and group support programmes with Team Leaders and managers.
• Promote a safe working and living environment and resolve conflicts using appropriate techniques and language.
• Ensure medication is stored and administered in line with policy where necessary.
• Record and log information according to service reporting guidelines.
• Attend all relevant training and comply with Health & Safety policies.
