Job summary

RBK Chartered Accountants is supporting a national construction client in recruiting an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. The role focuses on strategic development and oversight of safety, health, and environmental programs to meet legal and corporate objectives.

You will ensure compliance with Irish and EU regulations, lead incident investigations, report EHS performance to senior management, and manage budgets for safety technology and training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an EHS role within construction
• Knowledge of Irish and EU health, safety and environmental regulations
• Experience leading EHS audits, inspections and assessments
• Delivery of safety and environmental training programs
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proficiency with MS Office and safety management systems

Responsibilities

• Lead development and oversight of safety, health, and environmental programs to align with corporate objectives.
• Ensure compliance with Irish and EU health, safety and environmental regulations (HSA, EPA).
• Oversee incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Present EHS metrics and KPIs to Senior Leadership; provide detailed risk reports.
• Manage EHS department budget and allocate resources for safety tech and training.
• Lead risk assessments, hazard analyses, and mitigation for projects.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and audits; maintain EHS records.
• Promote safety culture through training, toolbox talks, and inductions.
• Develop sustainable construction practices and carbon reduction strategies.
