Job summary

RBK Chartered Accountants (acting for a client in the construction sector) seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety, health and environmental programs across projects. You will ensure compliance with Irish and EU regulations, manage audits, and drive a proactive safety culture with robust training and reporting to senior management.

You will oversee risk assessments, incident investigations, and sustainability initiatives, while coordinating with regulatory bodies

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in an EHS role within construction.
• Proven track record of managing safety, health, and environmental practices on large projects.
• Experience in leading EHS audits, inspections, and assessments on sites.
• Ability to deliver safety and environmental training programs.
• Strong understanding of construction safety hazards and environmental impacts.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and oversight of safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Ensure compliance with Irish and EU health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Oversee incident investigations and root-cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Present EHS metrics and reports to senior leadership.
• Manage EHS department budget and resources for safety tech and training.
• Lead risk assessments, hazard analyses, and mitigation planning.
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership and training.
• Implement sustainable construction practices and waste reduction strategies.
• Review subcontractor Safety Statements and liaise with regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and update Safety Statements and risk assessments.
• Coordinate responses during inspections by HSA and regulators.
