Job summary

Amazon’s OpsTech Networking Edge team seeks a Network Development Engineer II to design scalable edge architectures and improve capacity planning for thousands of SDWAN sites globally.

You will work on Cisco SDWAN, AWS Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, and Direct Connect integrations, focusing on reliability, security, and maintainable designs while mentoring teammates and collaborating with diverse groups across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years designing and operating large-scale production networks.
• 3+ years with routing protocols BGP/OSPF.
• 3+ years routing/switching hardware from Cisco/Juniper.
• Ability to design secure, stable, testable network solutions.
• Strong documentation skills and clear technical writing.
• Experience building tools and improving operational procedures.
• Ability to work effectively on diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable edge network architectures across SDWAN and cloud integrations.
• Implement and operate edge network solutions with security and reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor teammates on best practices.
• Drive root-cause analysis and improvements for network events.
• Prototype and deploy automation using programming languages where appropriate.
