Job description

We’re recruiting an eCommerce Content Team Lead for an established and growing online business in Dublin.

This is a hands-on role combining day-to-day leadership of an experienced three-person team with eCommerce content, product and category management.

The business isn't looking for someone to simply manage from a distance. You'll work alongside the team while taking responsibility for what gets done, who does it, what takes priority and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.

The role

Around 60% of the position will remain hands-on, working across website content and the online product range. The other key part of the role is providing the team with the structure, direction and leadership they need day-to-day.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading an established team of three
  • Allocating work and setting clear daily and weekly priorities
  • Keeping visibility over workloads, deadlines and progress
  • Making sure tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standard
  • Confidently challenging delays or issues when necessary
  • Communicating new processes and instructions clearly to the team
  • Working effectively with different personalities and experience levels
  • Remaining hands-on with product listings, descriptions, imagery and website content
  • Reviewing and improving existing product and category content
  • Supporting new product and category launches
  • Online merchandising, SEO and website optimisation
  • Supporting promotions, email and seasonal activity
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflows and processes
  • Applying commercial judgement to what products and categories are added to the website

The business operates in a fast-moving environment, so we're looking for someone who communicates clearly, makes decisions and is comfortable taking ownership rather than waiting for direction.

What we're looking for

The most important requirement is genuine hands-on team leadership experience.

You don't necessarily need to have held a traditional People Manager title, but you should already have experience:

  • Leading people in their day-to-day work
  • Delegating and assigning tasks
  • Following up on delivery
  • Challenging people constructively when required
  • Explaining tasks and processes clearly
  • Keeping a busy team organised and moving

You'll also need enough eCommerce/content experience to remain hands-on yourself. This could come from eCommerce, online retail, digital content, product content, online merchandising or a similar environment.

Experience with CMS/eCommerce platforms, SEO, product catalogues, digital content or online merchandising would all be useful.

We're particularly interested in someone who enjoys being a hands-on team lead – somebody who can organise people in the morning, solve problems throughout the day and still get involved in the work themselves.
