Job summary

AbbVie seeks a senior Director of Process Engineering to lead a diverse team of engineers and scientists, bridging development and operations to scale products from pilot to full-scale manufacture.

You will partner with manufacturing and quality to deliver technical requirements, lead site projects, manage budgets, and drive process optimization while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline is required.
• 10+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry formulation, including at least 4+ years of managerial experience.
• Knowledge of AbbVie Engineering standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of managing projects through to completion.
• Excellent communication skills with layers of management.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with internal and external partners to provide effective technical and business leadership.
• Maintain and direct a cross-functional staff to ensure CMC life cycle management.
• Develops engineering objectives and strategies for site advancement and cost optimization.
• Develop cost estimates, business plans, timelines and contingency plans.
• Participate in capital plan input and capital project execution.
• Make final decisions related to project responsibilities.
• Represent AbbVie during audits by providing information with active participation.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines are followed by the Engineering team.
• Provide leadership, coaching, training, and mentoring to direct reports.
