Job summary

AbbVie in Ireland seeks a Director of Process Engineering to lead a technically diverse team, bridging development and operations, ensuring a smooth scale-up from pilot to full-scale manufacturing.

You will partner with manufacturing, quality, and external partners to drive process optimization, capital planning, and project delivery while upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering.
• 10+ years in pharmaceutical industry with at least 4 years of managerial experience.
• Proven leadership and track record of delivering projects through to completion.
• Excellent communication skills with layers of management.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with internal and external partners to provide technical and business leadership.
• Directs a diversified staff to ensure lifecycle management of CMC activities within time and budget.
• Develops objectives and strategies to advance site operations and drive process optimization.
• Develops and communicates cost estimates, plans, timelines and contingencies for projects.
• Participates in capital planning and execution to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
• Makes final decisions related to project responsibilities.
• Represents AbbVie during audits by regulatory agencies with active participation.
• Ensures adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental practices by the Engineering team.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports.
