Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) required.
• 10+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry formulation, incl. at least 4+ years managerial.
• Knowledge of AbbVie Engineering standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of managing projects through to completion.
• Excellent communication skills with layers of management.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with internal and external partners to provide technical and business leadership.
• Directs a highly diversified cross-functional staff of engineers and scientists.
• Links development organizations and operations to ensure seamless pilot-to-full-scale manufacture.
• Accountable for all activities of the department and provides technical and business leadership.
• Partner with manufacturing and quality on project identification, definition, and execution.
• Deliver technical requirements for product launches and support development of innovative solutions.
• Represent AbbVie during audits to regulatory agencies with active participation.
• Ensure all Engineering team members follow Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
