Job summary

AbbVie in Ireland is seeking a Director of Process Engineering to lead a technically diverse team responsible for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products. The role bridges development and operations, driving site-wide process improvements and ensuring regulatory and quality compliance.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality, manage budgets and timelines, and mentor staff while representing the site in audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical) required.
• 10+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry formulation.
• 4+ years of managerial experience.
• Knowledge of AbbVie Engineering standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of managing projects through to completion.
• Excellent communication skills with layers of management.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with internal and external partners to provide technical and business leadership.
• Maintain and direct a cross-functional staff to ensure CMC lifecycle activities are completed on time and to standards.
• Develops engineering objectives and strategies for site progress and cost optimization.
• Provide leadership, coaching, training, and mentoring to direct reports.
• Represent AbbVie during audits and regulatory interactions.
