Phorest is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead Payments and Foundations, driving scale, revenue growth and security. You will shape engineering strategy, develop leaders, and collaborate with CTO and cross-functional partners to deliver reliable, scalable systems.

The role covers payments engineering, infrastructure, internal AI enablement, and service excellence across regions. Hybrid/remote work available in Ireland.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience with payments engineering and enterprise-scale platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architectures (AWS) and security controls.
• Proven track record delivering cross-functional programs.

Responsabilités

• Define engineering strategy and lead Heads of Engineering and managers.
• Oversee Payments Engineering, Internal scaling, Platform health, and AI enablement.
• Partner with CTO and other leaders to deliver company strategy.
• Uplift engineering culture and hiring.
