Job summary

Stripe is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Local Payment Methods Foundations team in Dublin. You will translate regional priorities into a platform roadmap, shaping technical direction while coaching engineers to deliver reliable, scalable payment methods and AI-enabled workflows.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years managing engineering teams, strong cross-functional collaboration, and a track record in large-scale platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing teams that shipped high-quality products.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with autonomy in ambiguous environments.
• Proven ability to recruit and develop engineering teams.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and decision-making.
• Experience building platforms or large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience applying AI to development or delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience leading fully remote or distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and roadmap for platform capabilities that help LPM teams build, integrate, and operate payment methods at scale.
• Lead engineers in designing and delivering reliable, self-service foundations that simplify integrations and speed up launches.
• Build an AI-first engineering organization: develop the platform hooks and working practices that enable agentic development and help teams use AI to improve execution and product-engineering decisions.
• Partner closely with customers, engineering, product, partnerships, legal, operations, and other stakeholders to align priorities and deliver end-to-end outcomes.
• Drive clear technical and architectural decisions with staff engineers, balancing reliability, extensibility, velocity, and regional payments complexity.
• Lead and improve the team’s operating processes so it can execute effectively and engage well with the rest of Stripe.
• Recruit, develop, and retain great engineers; support their growth and help build a challenging, supportive, and inclusive team culture.
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team.
