Job summary

SumUp is seeking experienced field sales consultants in Ireland to drive new merchant acquisitions. You will operate as a self-employed, commission-based representative, prospecting locally and visiting businesses to demonstrate SumUp payments, POS and software solutions.

You will manage the entire sales cycle from first contact to close, build relationships with business owners, and keep CRM records up to date while planning effective territory visits.

Qualifications

• At least one year of field sales experience within local business sectors.
• Cold prospecting experience, including face-to-face outreach.
• Experience selling to SMBs and direct with owners or decision makers.
• Track record of winning new customers and hitting sales targets.
• Ability to manage a sale from first contact to closing, handling objections.
• Strong organisation and consistent follow-up.
• Willingness to commit time to build your customer base in your territory.
• Base location within easy reach of your agreed territory.

Responsibilities

• Find new customers through face-to-face visits and direct outreach.
• Focus on local businesses with strong payment volumes for SumUp products.
• Ask questions about how each business works and recommend solutions.
• Manage the sale from first conversation through demonstrations and close.
• Help customers set up and start using SumUp products.
• Build relationships with owners and seek referrals.
• Plan visits and follow-ups to optimize territory time.
• Keep CRM records up to date and track activity and pipeline.
• Review progress with Territory Manager and apply feedback.
