Quantity Surveyor - Dublin, permanent
Are you a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor looking to join a growing construction team and play a key role in the successful delivery of major projects? I am seeking an experienced QS to support project delivery across all commercial aspects of the construction lifecycle. You will work closely with project and site teams, managing costs, procurement, contracts, risk and subcontractor performance while helping to drive strong commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tender packages and manage subcontractor procurement processes.
- Analyse tender returns and negotiate subcontract agreements.
- Manage subcontractors through to final account settlement.
- Prepare valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Maintain accurate site records, measurements and document control.
- Support forecasting, cost reporting and contract value reviews.
- Monitor project cash flow and commercial performance.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with site and project management teams to influence commercial decisions.
- Support implementation of commercial strategy across projects.
- Supervise and mentor Assistant and Trainee QS's.
- Ensure contractual entitlements are protected and maximised.
What you will bring
- Proven Quantity Surveying experience within the construction sector.
- Strong background in cost management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Experience managing subcontract procurement and contract administration.
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts and commercial risk management.
- Experience with forecasting, CVRs, cost reporting and cash flow management.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree qualified in QS or a related discipline.
- Progression towards a relevant professional accreditation such as CIOB.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work independently.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on large Design and Build projects over €20 million.
- Knowledge of construction claims and dispute resolution & contract law.
