Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is recruiting a Commercial Manager for a leading Meath construction contractor to oversee the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction to completion.

You will require a Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics degree, 7+ years' main contractor experience, strong contract knowledge, and proven ability to manage budgets, procurement, variations, and final accounts while leading the commercial team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline.
• 7+ years' construction experience.
• Strong main contractor background and prior Commercial Manager/Senior QS roles.
• Proven knowledge of construction contracts and negotiation skills.
• Experience with procurement, valuations, variations, forecasting and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow and CVRs across multiple projects.
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
• Administer contracts, handle variations, claims and final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities; prepare monthly cost/value reports.
• Lead and mentor the commercial team; support senior management with strategy.

Our client is an established and growing construction contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to join their senior management team.

About Your New Role

As Commercial Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and CVRs
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
• Contract administration, variations, claims and final accounts
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Preparing monthly cost/value reports
• Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers and site teams
• Leading and mentoring the commercial team
• Supporting senior management with commercial strategy

What You Will Need

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline
• 7+ years' construction experience
• Strong main contractor background
• Previous Commercial Manager or Senior QS experience
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts
• Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
