Our client is seeking a Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on Azure experience. This role combines practical cloud engineering with technical investigations, helping assess cloud interoperability, switching and regulatory compliance across the data processing services industry.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Provide technical cloud expertise across investigations, complaints, disputes and policy work.
- Develop technical resources for assessing cloud interoperability and switching compliance.
- Support testing, technical analysis and evidence handling.
- Work across cloud infrastructure, networking, databases, storage and automation.
- Provide technical input to engagements with industry, government and other regulators.
MUST-HAVES
- Third-level qualification in Cloud Services, Cloud Engineering or a directly relevant discipline
- At least 3 years of operational experience managing cloud workloads and deployments, ideally within Azure.
- Working knowledge and experience managing AKS, Azure Virtual WAN, Cosmos DB and Entra ID.
- Familiarity or hands-on experience with GCP core services.
- Practical experience packaging applications with Docker and deploying to Kubernetes.
- Experience with scripted automation of cloud operations.
- Hands-on experience setting up and administering local/private cloud environments using open-source platforms such as OpenStack.
- Strong communication and technical drafting skills for internal and external audiences.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with cloud databases, object storage and cloud networking, including subnets, firewalls and cross-cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD and Azure DevOps or similar.
- Understanding of Azure AD, Entra ID and GCP IAM.
- Experience with AI workloads, heterogeneous compute environments or custom platforms.
- Experience within a regulated industry or regulatory environment.
