Eden-Social-Care in North Dublin is seeking a talented Chef to join a brand-new nursing home kitchen. You will craft fresh, nutritious meals, tailored to residents' dietary needs, and work with the care team to deliver meals that support health, dignity and enjoyment.

Competenze

• Chef qualification or equivalent experience required.
• Experience in healthcare/care kitchen preferred.
• Strong HACCP, hygiene and food safety knowledge.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented, enthusiastic and passionate Chef to join a brand-new, state-of-the-art nursing home in North Dublin.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new team and play a key role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our residents. We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing fresh, nutritious and delicious meals while recognising the important role food plays in residents' health, happiness and quality of life.

Salary:

€18.00 - €21.00 per hour, negotiable DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver fresh, nutritious and high-quality meals in line with residents' dietary requirements and preferences.
• Plan varied, balanced and appealing menus that promote choice, enjoyment and nutritional wellbeing.
• Cater for special dietary requirements, including modified-texture diets, allergies and therapeutic diets.
• Ensure meals are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, food safety and kitchen cleanliness standards.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines and all relevant food safety legislation.
• Manage food ordering, stock control, storage and minimise food waste.
• Work closely with the nursing team and dietitian to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Support and supervise kitchen staff, promoting a positive and efficient working environment.
• Monitor kitchen equipment, supplies and resources to ensure effective day-to-day operations.
• Contribute to creating a welcoming dining experience that promotes residents' dignity, choice and enjoyment.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Relevant professional chef qualification or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within healthcare, nursing homes or catering environments.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards.
• Experience catering for special dietary requirements and modified-texture diets is desirable.
• Excellent food preparation, cooking and presentation skills.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and work to deadlines.
• A creative approach to menu planning and food presentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A positive, flexible and proactive attitude.
• A genuine passion for food and an understanding of the importance of nutrition and mealtimes for older people.
