Griffith College IT Services is seeking a part-time IT Support Officer to join the Service Desk and expand hands-on skills across Windows, AD, networking and security. You will support learners and staff, handle service requests, and assist with classroom A/V and infrastructure tasks on our Dublin campus.

You'll work closely with senior staff, enjoy mentoring, and grow your abilities in a dynamic college environment with travel to campus sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience as a Helpdesk/Service Desk Administrator or similar role.
• Apprenticeship/BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant industry experience strongly preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Active Directory.
• Experience with networks.
• Knowledge of system security and patch management.
• Self-motivated and quick to learn.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service & communication skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible team player able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English-language communications.

Responsabilités

• Dealing with Learner Queries in relation to systems access and support.
• Responding to service requests through our Service Desk system.
• Responsibility for city centre campus support requests, with occasional travel to Wolfe Tone Street.
• Maintenance of classroom A/V equipment (PCs, projectors, control systems).
• Resolving operational problems relating to PCs, printers, data communications, application software, etc.
• Configuration and deployment of desktops and laptops.
• Event support for internal and external clients – Graduation, Induction, Open Days, etc.
• Administration of active directory, group policies, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, MS DHCP & DNS, and terminal services.
• Installing and configuring software, hardware and networks.
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.
• Application of security updates and daily security checks.
