Job summary

rhe in Dublin seeks a General / Business Unit Manager to lead the operational activity across Dublin sites, partnering with the senior management team and taking ownership of P&L, budgeting and financial reporting.

You will develop and execute the operational strategy, ensure COMAH compliance, maintain MAPP, and act as the main contact for HAS and EPA. You will drive growth, deliver productivity and align cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive industry knowledge in road freight and 3PL environments.
• Senior operational experience with proven target and financial results delivery.
• Understanding of COMAH requirements and chemical safety regulations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational activity across the Dublin location and sites.

• Provide regular reviews and analysis of performance, delivery and targets.

Job description

What You Can Expect :

• To lead the Operational activity across the Dublin location and sites
• To work collaboratively with the Senior management team
• To take ownership of the P&L, participate in the budgeting process and financial reporting
• To develop and execute the operational strategy ensuring information is clear, communicated and transparent to all stakeholders
• To ensure the site complies with SI No. 209/2015 (COMAH Regulations)
• To maintain the Major Accident Prevention Policy (MAPP), ensuring all regulations are met.
• To serve as the main point of contact for the Health and Safety Authority (HAS) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
• To deliver on the opportunities for growth and development, whilst maximizing opportunities to positively impact the financial result
• To execute the operational business plan driving productivity, performance and profitability
• To work in collaboration with the branch and operational managers to ensure alignment, collaboration and optimisation across all operational areas
• To Lead a cross functional team including operations, HSEQ, customer service and transport
• To ensure that key stakeholders are aware of operational performance and risks, providing regular reviews and analysis of performance, delivery and associated targets
• To work closely with the Commercial team to ensure that new business activities are translated successfully into operational delivery.
• To ensure that the business is fully supported and guided on all operational issues and strategies
• In conjunction with the business needs, motivate and measure the operational departments to deliver in line with the business plan
• Any other tasks deemed appropriate for the role of General / Business Unit Manager

What You Bring:

Key Competencies & Skills

• Experience of working in a international road freight organisation
• Experience of working within a Tier 1 COMAH site is preferred
• Proven successful track record of working in European Road Freight, Chemicals and Warehousing environments, demonstrating an understanding of the strategic approach to long term objectives
• Experience of leading an operational team with successful results
• Results driven approach
• Ability to successfully and continually evolve operational performance
• Strong people management and communication skills are necessary as is the ability to identify and maximise opportunities
• Ability to maintain focus and positive impact on cost service and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and present results to stakeholders in a structured format

Qualifications & Experience

• Must demonstrate extensive industry knowledge and experience
• Must have held an Operational role at a senior level previously
• Track record of achieving targets and objectives, specifically in relation to operational performance and financial results
• Working knowledge of Tier 1 COMAH requirements and chemical safety regulations are desirable
• Education at Graduate level (or equivalent) or above or appropriate industry experience
• Knowledge of ERP / WMS systems, KPI's and operational best practices in a 3PL setting
