Job summary

Amden Group Ltd. seeks an on-site project manager to lead the commissioning and startup of a new facility in County Meath. You will work with the regulatory team to ensure compliance across production of animal nutrition products and uphold Quality Standards.

You will oversee site operations, manage budgets, and drive cost reductions while leading operational and support staff and promoting a Great Place to Work aligned with company values.

Qualifications

  • Education Attainments Degree or equivalent in a business/engineering discipline (desirable)
  • Lean Six Sigma formal qualification (desirable)
  • Prince 2 or project management qualification (desirable)
  • Health and Safety formal qualification (NEBOSH, or equivalent) (desirable)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in a similar role
  • Successful delivery of projects on time and on budget.

Job description

Main responsibilities include:

  • Working as on-site project manager with responsibility for the successful commissioning and startup of the new facility in County Meath.
  • Working with the regulatory team at HQ to ensure compliance in all aspects of the production of wide range of animal nutrition products.
  • Ensuring that the site conforms to all group Quality Standards on an ongoing basis
  • Ensuring that all site processes comply with the applicable accreditations and regulations as determined by various accreditation authorities.
  • Ensuring that our processes and finished goods meet all specifications as required by our customers.
  • Working with our HR team in the recruitment and training of all operational and support staff.
  • Ensuring the site conforms to all group and regulatory Health and Safety standards.
  • Overseeing all aspects of site operations including the management of all costs related to the site to an optimal level
  • Working collaboratively with the key stakeholders, ensuring the safe and cost-effective operation of the Factory.
  • Budget planning and financial management with accurate manufacturing data reporting
  • Meeting customer and market requirements within the constraints of budgeted financial parameters: safety, quality, productivity, delivery people and cost.
  • Ensuring the timeliness of manufacturing to meet customers need.
  • Provide strong people leadership to support the delivery of a Great Place to Work including ensuring a positive work environment in line with the company values
  • Support the recruitment, development and retention of people in line with our Talent Management Strategy
  • Manage, mentor and develop all levels of the operational team
  • Ensuring collaborative working relations
  • Lead all site HSE activities, ensuing ownership of yourself, others & activities within your areas of responsibility.
  • Working in conjunction with the Group Plant Manager to develop strategic plans and budgets to optimise and streamline operations.
  • Participate at a senior management level to drive transformational change across the business.
  • Drive transformational change to ensure overall reductions in operating costs and site cost per tonne.
  • Demonstrate and promote the essential use of lean tools and techniques.
  • For example: 5S, SMED, Line Speed Balancing, TPM, Problem Solving Techniques, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Process Control, Gemba Walks, SQDC KPI Boards etc.
  • Identification of potential improvement projects to help the sites meet targets in relation to safety improvement, productivity, efficiency, quality improvements and developing support teams with delegation and mentoring, specific to sites and/or projects
  • Ensure delivery of individual projects to plan – including timing, budgets and realisation of project deliverables
