Job summary

Excel Recruitment is seeking a Building Trade Counter Sales Assistant for a new store in Abbeyleix, Laois. You will welcome customers, provide expert product advice on building and construction supplies, and process orders in-store, by phone, and via email.

You will also support stock control and maintain a clean, well-stocked counter. The right candidate is sales-driven, bubbly and customer-focused, with a willingness to deliver top-class service.

Qualifications

• Experience in building trade sales or similar role preferred.
• Ability to advise on building materials and DIY products.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers at the trade counter with product advice.
• Process orders in-store, by phone and via email.
• Upsell and cross-sell products to maximise sales.
• Prepare quotes and follow up on enquiries.

Salary: EUR35000 - EUR45000 per annum

My client a builder providers, hardware, DIY, and homeware business is opening up a new store in Abbeyleix, Laois

They are looking for a sales motivated and customer-focused person to join their Building Trade Counter.

Someone from a similar role is ideal however I welcome candidates with solid knowledge of building products; a builder perhaps who wants to down tools.

Salary & Benefits:€35k-€45k, negotiable must reflect experience, Generous Staff Discount, No Sundays and with some Saturdays off.

As a Trade Counter Sales Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for customers visiting the trade counter.

You will provide expert product advice, process sales orders, maintain stock levels, and support the smooth operation of the trade counter.

This role requires a bubbly, enthusiastic and sales driven person with an excellent work ethic; someone will provide top class service to each and every customer.

Responsibilities for the job of Building Trade Counter Salesperson:

• Welcome and assist customers at the trade counter, providing knowledgeable advice on building and construction products.
• Process customer orders accurately in-store, by phone, and via email.
• Upsell and cross-sell products to maximise sales opportunities.
• Prepare quotes and follow up with customers to convert enquiries into sales.
• Liaise with suppliers to check stock availability and lead times.
• Maintain stock levels, carry out stock checks, and assist with stock replenishment.
• Ensure the trade counter area is clean, well-presented, and fully stocked at all times.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Work closely with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
