Job summary

The Galmont Hotel & Spa, Galway is seeking a Breakfast Chef to lead the preparation and service of our breakfast offering. You will ensure high standards of quality, presentation and hygiene across the buffet and service areas, while maintaining mise en place and collaboration with the Kitchen and F&B teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as a hotel or busy breakfast chef.
• Comfortable with early-morning shifts.
• Passion for delivering high standards of food.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Understands HACCP and food safety requirements.
• Reliable, organised and a strong team player.
• Flexible regarding working hours including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast dishes to a high standard.
• Present and replenish the breakfast buffet and service areas.
• Complete daily food preparation and mise en place.
• Maintain food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards.
• Monitor food quality, portion control and waste.
• Keep kitchen and work areas clean, organised and safe.
• Work with Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams.
• Assist with stock control and deliveries as required.
• Support the Kitchen Team with additional duties as needed.

Job description

The Role

As Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for the preparation and service of our breakfast offering, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and cooking breakfast dishes to a consistently high standard
• Ensuring the breakfast buffet and service areas are well presented and replenished throughout service
• Completing daily food preparation and mise en place
• Maintaining excellent food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards
• Monitoring food quality, portion control and waste
• Ensuring the kitchen and work areas are kept clean, organised and safe
• Working closely with the wider Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams
• Assisting with stock control and deliveries where required
• Supporting the Kitchen Team with additional duties as required

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working as a Chef, ideally within a hotel or busy breakfast operation
• Is comfortable working early morning shifts
• Has a genuine passion for food and delivering high standards
• Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Understands HACCP and food safety requirements
• Is reliable, organised and a strong team player
• Is flexible regarding working hours, including weekends and public holidays
