Job summary

Grand Hotel Malahide is seeking an experienced Full-Time Breakfast Chef Assistant to join our Kitchen team. The role supports the Breakfast Chef in preparing and presenting breakfast items and ensuring the buffet is replenished to a high standard throughout the morning service.

With 1 year of relevant kitchen or breakfast service experience, you will thrive in a fast-paced hotel environment, contribute to guest satisfaction, and work early morning shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar kitchen or breakfast service role
• Previous experience working with a breakfast buffet is highly desirable
• Good knowledge of food preparation, hygiene and food safety standards
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards

Responsibilities

• Carry out, to the best of your ability, all reasonable duties requested by the Head Chef or Senior Kitchen Staff
• Assist the Chef with breakfast preparation and food production
• Prepare and replenish items for the breakfast buffet
• Meet and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner during breakfast service
• Ensure hot food plates are pre-heated and service-ready
• Maintain the breakfast buffet area in a clean, tidy, and well-presented condition at all times
• Follow all HACCP and food safety procedures
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and professional appearance at all times
• Assist with cleaning duties, including kitchen equipment and food preparation areas
• Ensure proper storage of food items in line with health and safety regulations
• Support the team in maintaining high service standards and guest satisfaction

Breakfast Chef Assistant - 4* Grand Hotel, Malahide

Under the management of FBD Hotels & Resorts, the 4-star Grand Hotel Malahide is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Full-Time Breakfast Chef Assistant to join our Kitchen team.

The Breakfast Chef Assistant will work closely with the Breakfast Chef to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the breakfast service. The main responsibility will be to assist with the preparation and presentation of breakfast items and to ensure that the buffet is continuously replenished and maintained to a high standard throughout the morning service.

Responsibilities will include:

• Carry out, to the best of your ability, all reasonable duties requested by the Head Chef or Senior Kitchen Staff
• Assist the Chef with breakfast preparation and food production

Requirements for the role:

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar kitchen or breakfast service role, ideally within a 3-star or 4-star hotel environment
• Previous experience working with a breakfast buffet is highly desirable
• Good knowledge of food preparation, hygiene and food safety standards
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, organised and able to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Positive attitude with a genuine interest in hospitality
• Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work early morning shifts
