Job summary

Stryker in Cork offers a 6, 9 or 12 month placement for engineering students to perform testing on medical device products using automated, semi-automated and manual methods at our Cork site. You will follow test request protocols and report results in writing and verbally.

You will support R&D, Advanced Operations and Global Quality while developing inspection and testing procedures, formulating guidelines, and executing experiments that comply with FDA requirements and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Currently completing an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification in Engineering courses including Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• Excellent visual and motor skills with attention to minute inconsistencies.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex testing issues with independent judgment.
• Strong honesty, integrity and compliance with quality systems and policies.
• Motivated, flexible, and a team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; basic PC skills.
• Interest in engineering and eagerness to learn and develop.
• Availability for 6, 9 or 12 months; start date discussion with Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Identify a process improvement project with objectives, scope, milestones and metrics.
• Support R&D, Advanced Operations and Global Quality on testing and verification of products.
• Develop and coordinate inspection and testing procedures for prototypes and components.
• Formulate test guidelines and revise specifications as needed.
• Set up and perform routine to non-routine experiments complying with standards.
• Extract and process test data into formal written and verbal reports.
• Assist in designing, installing and maintaining sampling systems and fixtures.
• Maintain laboratory documentation and housekeeping standards.
• Coordinate with facilities and maintain test equipment and fixtures.
• Demonstrate dependability, initiative, and teamwork in the workplace.
