Job summary

Stryker in Ireland is seeking a placement-based role based at one of our Cork sites to perform testing on medical device products using automated, semi-automated and manual methods. You will follow test request protocols and report results in writing and verbally, while evaluating product and component performance.

You will join the 2027 Cooperative cohort and collaborate with R&D, Advanced Operations and Global Quality on development and verification testing, and help create procedures for

Qualifications

• Currently completing an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification in Engineering courses including Mechanical Engineering.
• Biomedical Engineering is acceptable as part of the qualification.
• Demonstrates very good visual acuity and fine motor skills.
• Ability to analyze and correct complex testing issues using independent judgment.
• Honesty and integrity; complies with quality system and policies.
• Self-motivated, flexible and hardworking; team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; basic PC skills.
• Available for 6, 9 or 12 months; start date to be discussed.

Responsibilities

• Identify a process improvement project with objectives, scope, milestones and metrics.
• Support R&D, Advanced Operations and Global Quality on development and verification testing.
• Develop and coordinate inspection and testing procedures for prototypes and products.
• Formulate test guidelines and revise specifications as needed.
• Set up and perform experiments compliant with FDA requirements and standards.
• Extract and process test data into formal reports in writing and verbally.
• Assist in designing, installing and maintaining sampling systems and fixtures.
• Maintain documentation and lab housekeeping to a high standard.
• Coordinate with facilities and maintain test equipment and fixtures.
• Demonstrate dependability, initiative, organization and teamwork.
