Job summary

Stryker in Cork, Ireland invites engineering students to join its 2027 Cooperative cohort. You will perform testing on medical device products and components using automated, semi-automated, and manual methods, report results, and help evaluate performance attributes.

You will develop testing procedures, support R&D and QA, and coordinate data documentation while complying with FDA requirements. This paid placement offers mentorship, flexible hours, and exposure to real-world healthcare

Qualifications

  • Currently completing an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification in Engineering courses including Mechanical Engineering.
  • Biomedical Engineering is also acceptable as part of the study program.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g., printed word, product appearance).
  • Ability to analyze and correct complex testing or system issues using independent judgment.
  • Honesty and integrity; compliance with quality system, regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify a process improvement project with objectives, scope, milestones and evaluation metrics.
  • Support R&D, Advanced Operations and Global Quality Operations on development and verification testing.
  • Develop and coordinate inspection and testing procedures for prototypes, components and products.
  • Formulate test guidelines and revise specifications as needed.
  • Set up and perform routine and non-routine experiments meeting FDA requirements and engineering standards.
  • Extract and process test data into formal written and verbal reports compliant with FDA requirements.
  • Assist in designing, installing and maintaining process sampling systems, statistical techniques and testing mechanisms.
  • Maintain test laboratory documentation and housekeeping standards.
