Job summary

BrookLodge & Macreddin Village in Aughrim, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, seeks a hands-on Maintenance Crew member to keep hotel facilities, guest rooms and public areas running smoothly and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC, responding to guest requests, and collaborating with housekeeping, front desk and F&B to support guest needs.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance or facilities experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Manager and lead the team.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and safe.
• Monitor building systems (heating, lighting, water).
• Support event setup and breakdown as required.
• Collaborate with housekeeping, front desk and F&B to meet guest needs.
• Follow health and safety protocols and hotel standards.

Overview:

The Maintenance Crew at BrookLodge & Macreddin Village plays a key role in ensuring that all hotel facilities, guest rooms, and public areas are operating efficiently and are maintained to the highest standards. This hands‑on role requires a proactive, skilled, and safety‑conscious individual who can troubleshoot and carry out a wide range of repairs while supporting the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in his role.
• Lead by example with the Maintenace Crew.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of hotel facilities, guest rooms, and common areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Carry out basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
• Monitor and manage building systems such as heating, lighting, and water supply.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for events or functions as required.
• Work collaboratively with the housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to support guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in all maintenance work areas.
• Follow health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with hotel standards and local regulations.
• Report any major maintenance issues or equipment faults to the Maintenance Manager

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities-related role, preferably in a hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• A proactive and team-oriented attitude.
• Trade qualification or technical training
• Valid driver’s license is an advantage.
